We have multiple locations within the UK spanning commercial, manufacturing, and distribution, including:

Abingdon

Abbott’s office in Abingdon is home to our Toxicology business, which provides reliable and innovative drug and alcohol screening laboratory services to our customers around the world. The site provides laboratory and office space for approximately 120 staff and is conveniently situated by the A34 — close to the M40 for links to London and the Midlands.

Dundee

Situated on the east coast of Scotland, our Dundee facility is conveniently located in the Technology Park, on the outskirts of the city, with good road access via the A90. 

We are a circa 50,000 sq ft purpose-built manufacturing facility, home to circa 135 employees who are either directly involved or in support functions for the manufacture of in-vitro diagnostic kits for use in hospitals and reference labs.

Fitzrovia

Situated in Fitzrovia, our new London office is just 5 minutes’ walk to Tottenham Court Road station and the new Elizabeth line. Contemporary and light-flooded, this workspace is home to our growing Lingo team.

Loughton

Abbott’s office in Loughton is home to both our Toxicology and Occupational Health businesses, with approximately 60 staff on site. Our team in the on-site laboratory provide drug and alcohol screening services to our customers around the world, while our customer service teams support our nationwide healthcare services.

Maidenhead

Abbott in the UK is headquartered in Maidenhead, Berkshire and is home to approximately 250 office-based staff and a further 300+ field-based staff. Together, we develop healthcare solutions designed specifically for the UK — from next-generation diagnostic tools that put patients on the path to better health sooner to trusted medicines that help people of all ages stay active and vital.

Abbott Maidenhead provides a variety of commercial functions:

• Our nutrition business develops a variety of science-based products that nourish infants, children and adults — from oral nutritional supplements to tube feeds.

• A leader in in vitro diagnostics, we offer a broad range of innovative ways for hospitals, labs, blood banks and clinics to diagnose and monitor health conditions with greater accuracy, speed, convenience and cost-efficiency.

• As an emerging leader in the field of molecular diagnostics, we're helping physicians diagnose disease faster, select appropriate therapies and monitor disease progression by analysing DNA, RNA and proteins at the molecular level.

• Our point-of-care diagnostic tools provide rapid, accurate and reliable test results at the bedside using just two or three drops of blood.

• Our state-of-the-art blood glucose meters provide fast, accurate results and make testing more comfortable.

• We're transforming the treatment of vascular disease through next-generation devices, investments in research and development, and educational resources for healthcare professionals.

Abbott Maidenhead hires a variety of commercial positions including, sales, marketing, finance, field engineering, procurement, human resources, and legal.

Sittingbourne

Abbott's office in Sittingbourne has approximately 150 staff. Our nutrition business makes up a good number of these employees, including the Hospital2Home and H2H Pharmacy teams. H2H is Abbott's homecare service, devoted to easing your transition from hospital to your home. Our nutrition business also has customer service, medical device, warehouse, and research and development teams on site.

Abbott Laboratories are based in Sittingbourne, with Finance, GIS, Engineering and Purchasing teams onsite.

Solihull

Strategically situated at the hub of the UK's motorway system, the Solihull office is located in the West Midlands' premier business park, Blythe Valley, and is considered the head office for our medical UK business, which includes our cardiac rhythm management, electrophysiology and heart failure, neuromodulation, and structural heart businesses. Home to circa 35 office-based staff who support an additional 150 in field-based roles, its central location and fantastic meeting facilities encourage a host of visitors from other Abbott businesses.

Stockport

Our Stockport Office is situated just 10 minutes south of Manchester city centre by train and 6 miles from Manchester Airport. Considered as the northern hub of Abbott’s Rapid Diagnostics business, we are home to circa 30 employees, including Infectious Diseases and Cardiometabolic teams supporting field-based roles and customer support.

Witney

Witney is Abbott's UK Centre for innovation in our diabetes care products. Our diabetes care business designs, develops and manufactures leading-edge glucose monitoring systems and test strips for use in both home and hospital settings. Our product portfolio includes Freestyle Libre, a recently launched system that is revolutionising how people with diabetes around the world monitor their glucose levels. Typical roles hired at Witney include scientific and engineering, as well as operations support functions. Our "Hands Up" team at Witney, a team of employee volunteers, run various campaigns and initiatives, including wellbeing, sustainability, Women in STEM, schools engagement, Women Leaders of Abbott employee network, and charity fundraising — the site offers a wealth of activities to get involved in ranging from allotments to yoga, gig nights, to couch to 5k, and anything in between!
