These are not home tests. The Abbott SARS-CoV-2 laboratory antibody test has currently been validated using venous blood taken by a trained professional.
Abbott is committed to bringing a range of testing options to market to help tackle the COVID-19 pandemic. We understand some accredited laboratories have completed validations using a self-sample collection procedure and they are now working with the relevant bodies to demonstrate their results and seek appropriate evaluation.
